# Send IOC to an Alias

Imagine you went out for lunch with a friend and you decided to split the bill. Unfortunately, you forgot your wallet and they said: “Don’t worry, I’ll pay now and you can pay me back in IOC when you get home. My DION is *bananas*.” Fortunately for you, sending IOC to a DION alias is very straight forward and it happens nearly instantly, like any other transaction in the I/O Coin blockchain. Continue reading to find out how it works. These instructions can also be used to send IOC to a regular IOC address.

1. Click **Send** in the top right corner of your wallet or go to **Send Payment** on the left-hand side menu;
2. Click on **Add Recipient** and type in the DION, in this example ‘bananas’;
3. Hit Enter and fill in the amount of IOC you want to send. The wallet will now show an overview of the network fees and the total amount of IOC that you are going to send. For decimals you can use a decimal point (.), a comma (,) does not work
4. Now all you have to do is check the **Everything looks good** box and click **Send I/O Coins**.

## Sending IOC to multiple people at once <a href="#sending-ioc-to-multiple-people-at-once" id="sending-ioc-to-multiple-people-at-once"></a>

It is also possible to send IOC to multiple addresses at once. After filling in the first address or DION you can click **Add Recipient** again to fill in another one. For each address you can choose a different amount and Network Fees are only calculated once. When you are satisfied, check the **Everything looks good** box and click **Send I/O Coins**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://i-o-digital-foundation.gitbook.io/ioc/send-ioc-to-an-alias.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
